CVS - Free Powerade
I am a drinker by nature. As in, I am a beverage person. I like to drink sodas, juices, sports drinks, etc. Basically, I like to drink anything but plain water. But, my disdain for water does take a toll on my budget. I always appreciate finding deals on beverages. Here is one from CVS:

Rite Aid - Free Crest ProHealth Toothpaste - Single Check Rebate
Toothpaste is one of those basic essentials that you honestly should never have to buy again if you follow the drugstore deals closely. Last year I amassed a ton of Colgate Total Advanced Clean Plus Whitening from CVS. I gave away half of my stash when I moved cross-country, and I still have several tubes left. Overall, I am not really pleased with Colgate Total. It is the only brand I have been using for the past year and despite the fact that I brush multiple times a day, somehow I managed to get some pre-cavities. Plus, it doesn't really leave my mouth feeling refreshed so sometimes I brush two times back-to-back and still find myself feeling dissatisfied. As well, the plus whitening seems to be more of popular dental tag line that the product doesn't back up very well. I personally have been wanting to switch to a different brand for awhile. A friend gave me a tube of Pro-Health a couple months ago as a gift. (Apparently, he didn't know about my stash of toothpaste.) From my brief experience with Crest Pro-Health, I honestly think I like Pro-Health better than Colgate. Here's my chance, and yours, to find out for sure:

Similarly, around Easter last year, CVS offered plastic eggs and jelly beans free after ExtraCare Bucks. I picked up some of these goodies for the people in my office. I then hid the jelly bean filled eggs around some of my colleagues desks that I thought would find this mini-egg hunt amusing. I also got a nice box of Pot-of-Gold chocolates for St. Patrick's Day from CVS, and not BFC as some may have thought, that I also shared with my co-workers. I find it funny how these little gestures get overlook when my superiors reflect on my commitment to co-workers.

Shoppers - Free Ronzoni Smart Taste Pasta
I decided I would check out the Double/Triple Coupon Days going on at Shoppers Food thru 10/19. Overall, I did not enjoy my shopping experience or think that the coupon days was all that worthwhile, but I did find one item that is free after the coupon is doubled. It is important to note that the registers at Shoppers are setup to not allow overage, so the coupon is only doubled to the actual cost. However, if you wanted to experiment you could buy 5 boxes of pasta with 4-$1/1 coupons (limit 4 of the same coupon) and see if the overage is allowed to be allocated to make the 5th box free. I am not sure if it would work, but it might be worth trying.

Walgreens - $5/$25 Coupon
For 2 days only, you can receive $5 off your order of $25 or more with this coupon. This offer is good for Friday, October 17 & Saturday, October 18 only. The best way to get the most out of this offer is to purchase items from the EasySaver Rebate Catalog that are free after rebate to pad your total order. As I mentioned previously, Walgreens has 3 items that are completely free after rebate all month. This month 2 of these items are also rather pricey and will go a long way towards increasing your total bill. You must print out the coupon and bring it with you to the store. I have only ever been to one store that automatically scanned the coupon for you without you being responsible for supplying the coupon. I love this coupon and look forward to it every month. A version of this coupon comes out about twice month. Normally, this coupon is $5/$20, but the specifics of it do change. Sometimes it is only valid for one day and sometimes it is valid for two days. The specific dates of the coupon are random, but usually predictable. The coupon is generally never advertised in Walgreens weekly ads, but rather announced on their website in the third column on the right side of the screen. Yet, for some odd reason it is not displaying in this location at the moment. In the past, I have also been able to use manufacture coupons along with this coupon to enjoy the $5 while also not spending too much. However, it seems that many Walgreens have decided that regardless of what order you scan your coupons, they will automatically kick the $5 coupon out if you use more than an allowed amount in conjunction with this coupon. You can use a few manufacture coupons, but not too many. But, I do not know how many is too many.
Walgreens - 3 Items Free After Rebate
The highlight of each month's EasySaver Catalog are the Free After Rebate items. These are those items that are eligible for a full refund of the purchase price throughout the course of the rebate period without being dependent on the aid of coupons or sales. These items are listed first in the EasySaver Catalog. For the month of October (thru Oct 25) there are 3 items:

Adopt A Dog - Get Free Pedigree
While I don't have a dog myself, my roommate does. She recently adopted a beagle from an animal shelter. I found this deal while looking up information related to the previously mentioned dog treats. While I do not recommend adopting a dog just to do this deal, if for some reason you do, here it is:
When you adopt a shelter dog, Pedigree will give you a free month's supply of dog food provided in the form of a coupon redeembale for a 20 lb. bag of Pedigree® Food For Dogs. To request your free bag, fill out the form on the Pedigree Website. Limit: One (1) coupon per household/ address. All requests must be received by Feb. 09. Please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery.
As a side note, currently my roommate's beagle has diarrhea, and I am extra grateful for all my Glade products. Whoo-wee! I now understand why the apartment complex charges the most exorbitant pet fees I have ever seen. My roommate is lucky she was able to clean all that up.
Shoppers - Double & Triple Coupon Days
Due to popular demand, Shoppers Food will be holding 4 days of double/triple coupon shopping from Thursday, Oct 16 thru Sunday, October 19. The coupon days will will feature unlimited triple manufacture coupons up to and including $.50. This means that a manufacture cents off coupon worth $.25=$.75. In addition, it will feature unlimited double manufacture coupons more than $.50 and up to $1.00. This means $.55=$1.10 & $1.00=$2.00, but a $1.25=$1.25. However, there is a limit of 4 coupons for identical items. Coupons stating "Not Subject to Doubling" or "Do Not Trouble" will not be eligible for tripling or doubling.

Taxes in America
Not a deal, but with all the drama about the economy, I will eventually tie this into everything. This little story is great explanation of the way taxes work in this country. I got it from a friend and in it's original form is attributed to a professor of economics at the University of Georgia. However, I decided to change it from ten men drinking beers to ladies drinking vitamin enriched smoothies.
Suppose that every day, ten ladies go out for vitamin enriched smoothies and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:
The first four ladies (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth lady (the richest) would pay $59.
So, that's what they decided to do. The ten ladies drank in the smoothie shop every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve.
'Since you are all such good customers,' he said, 'I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily vitamin enriched smoothies by $20.'
Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.
The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes, so the first four ladies were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six ladies- the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get her 'fair share?' They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth lady and the sixth lady would each end up being paid to drink her smoothie. So, the smoothie bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each ladies' bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.
And so:
The fifth lady, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings)
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).
The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).
Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant the ladies began to compare their savings.
'I only got a dollar out of the $20,'declared the sixth lady.
She pointed to the tenth lady,' but she got $10!'
'Yeah, that's right,' exclaimed the fifth lady. 'I only saved a dollar, too.
It's unfair that she got ten times more than I!'
'That's true!!' shouted the seventh lady.
'Why should she get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!'
'Wait a minute,' yelled the first four ladies in unison.
'We didn't get anything at all.The system exploits the poor!'
Then nine ladies surrounded the tenth and beat her up.
The next night the tenth lady didn't show up for smoothies, so the nine sat down and had smoothies without her. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!
And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas smoothies where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

Target - Free Travel Sized All Small & Mighty
This is an ongoing coupon price match-up at Target. You can repeat this deal as many times as you can find or print coupons.
All Small & Mighty (travel size 2 oz)--$1.00
Use $1/1 coupon from inserts or printable from All Website
Free after coupon
This is truly the smallest of the All Small & Mighty products. It can be found in the Health & Beauty section of Target along with all the other travel sized items, not in the laundry section.
Personally, I am super excited about this deal not so much because I want the laundry detergent for travel purposes, but rather my nomadic lifestyle which parallels traveling very closely. Normal sized bottles can last quite a long time, often longer than I live in one place. I don't like wasting laundry detergent and throwing it away just because I am moving. At the same time, I do not like having to lug around a large bottle of laundry soap everywhere I go. Plus, when I move cross-country liquid soap is just a no-go. Yet, I always like to have a little bit of laundry soap with me so that I can last a little while before being forced to buy a large bottle. Recently, I have just been keeping a plastic baggie of powdered detergent in my belonging, but there is always a risk that the bag will rip open. This little bottle will come in very handy. Yet, for some reason I feel like I got over taxed on this little bottle. I'll have to look into it more. But, if I really paid as much tax as my receipt says, then I wouldn't bother trying to do this again as when you do a scale analysis there are some better deals on laundry detergent going on even now. But, if you are going to be doing some traveling, by all means try it out.

Target – Vitamin Water
Buy 10-20 oz bottles of Vitamin Water for $10 thru 10/18 and receive a $5 Target GiftCard. Limit 3. With the $5 GiftCard it makes it like paying $.50 a bottle.
I was reluctant to do this deal as I figured the Gatorade at CVS was a better deal at $.40 for a 32 oz bottle, but nonetheless I did this deal mostly because I was curious about this GiftCard business. I had heard about it before, but didn’t have any firsthand experience with it. I thought for sure I was going to have some type of difficulty getting the card from the cashier. But, to my delight it was a rather smooth process. After the specified quantity is rung up there is a message on the screen directing the cashier to give you a GiftCard for the advertised amount. From my perspective, this process is much like a catalina or Register Reward, but a little better since it is not just a coupon with an expiration date. It is an actual GiftCard that you can keep as long as you like and even use at Target.com. One thing I did later notice on my receipt though is that Target technically charges you for the GiftCard and then later takes the price of the GiftCard off at the end. The problem with this is that I was charge tax on my $5 GiftCard and thus reducing it’s value and increasing my per bottle cost in some respects. Then again, maybe I am just over analyzing. But, that's what I do when I don't have a job and just spent $5 on some frilly water that I normally only enjoy when I can charge it to an expense account and then discover that all but one of the flavors tastes funky. Perhaps I would be a little more willing to overlook the funk if I had some $.50/1 coupons from tearpads that are floating around to go with it or even a peelie for free Powerade when you buy 10 Vitamin Waters. Oh well. Nonetheless, if you actually like Vitamin Water, it is still a good bargain.

Buy 1 individual CVS Gold Bar or CVS Beauty Bar Soap at $.99 and receive $1 back in ExtraCare Bucks to make it like getting the CVS Bar Soap for free. Limit 5.
To sweeten this deal even more, you could use a $1.00/1 coupon from the CVS Reinventing Beauty Booklet. However, as I said before, these books can be hard to find.
Also, please note that I have seen the prices on the single bars of soap vary from store-to-store. If the price is over $.99 and you do not have a coupon, I do not recommend stocking up on this product unless there is some reason that you really need it.

Rite Aid - Free Pediatric Products - Single Check Rebate
Now something for the little ones. Okay, you got me. Even though I do have kids and do not technically fall into the pediatric age frame myself, I am not going let the pediatric label scare me away. I still plan to try a few of these items out for my own use. After all, the main ingredient in the Children's Advil is NSAID (Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug) and that seems to be the miracle drug for my stress headaches. Yes, I get stress headaches all the time. I mentioned them to my doctor just to make sure it wasn't anything else and she agreed. Although I try to be anti-drug, I've recently become anti-inflammatory in the form of NSAID. When I'm stressed, I just want the pain gone and I find that any product with NSAID will immediately relieve even my worst headaches whereas products without it take substantially longer to take affect before I even feel modest relief. Furthermore, the Children's Throat Cooler Pops are non-medicated. They appear to just be a fun vitamin c popsicle to prevent illness.

CVS - Gatorade
CVS has 32 oz Gatorade bottles on sale 5/$5 with a $3 ExtraCare Bucks reward. With the ExtraCare Bucks rewards it makes it like getting 5/$2 or $.40 per bottle. Limit 1.
If you have access to the CVS Reinventing Beauty Booklet you could use 2 $1/2 coupons to get all 5 bottles for free after coupons and ECBs. However, tracking down a CVS Reinventing Beauty Booklet is probably more work than it is worth as most stores likely won't have one and if you ask a manager/employee I willing to bet they won't have a clue what you are talking about. Then if you do find one, I think CVS had decided to charge $.99 for them now. There are a couple of coupons in the books that you could use to cover the cost, but I feel $.40 a bottle for Gatorade is still a good price.

Super Target - Free Baby Carrots
Green Giant 1-lb bags of baby carrots are on sale for $0.99 at Super Target stores. There is also a $1/1 bag coupon on the Target Website to result in getting them for free! I suggest printing the weekly store special price list off in addition to the coupons so that you can that it take with you to the store just in case your store has the carrots marked a little higher. With a print out of the sale prices you can ask the clerk to adjust the price if needed. You should be able to print this coupon as many times as you desire. Thus, you can stock up on 1-lb bags of baby carrots. While baby carrots are perishable, I have seen them last quite a while in the refrigerator. (I am not a big baby carrot eater; so whenever I buy them, if ever, they usually don't get eaten very quickly.) You could also consider freezing some carrots or even canning them. Canned carrots might make a nice addition to a food storage.

CVS - Free Nature's Bounty Vitamins
Nature's Bounty vitamins are on sale Buy 1 Get 1 Free this week at CVS (thru Oct 18th). You also get $2 in ExtraCare Bucks back when you buy 2. Prices range from $4.39-$54.99. There is also a printable coupon on the Nature's Bounty Website. If you buy 2 vitamins for $4.39 and use 2 of the $2 coupons, you'll pay $0.39 out-of-pocket and get $2 in ExtraCare Bucks back! Alternatively, you could use 1-$2 coupon and pay $2.39 up-front and get $2 in ExtraCare Bucks making the vitamins $.39 in the end. However, due the nature of this Buy 1 Get 1 Free deal you should be able to use 2-$2 coupons just fine. This deal has a limit of 4-$2 ExtraCare Bucks rewards. However, you are limited to 2 prints of the coupon from the same computer.
At the CVS location I shopped at I was only able to find 1 bottle of vitamins at $4.39. It was potassium; not exactly a vitamin I am highly concerned about. This particular CVS was also more of a tourist CVS though.
