I dubbed this as a Wegman's deal because I feel too often Wegman's gets an unmerited reputation for being expensive since it is a specialty store. However, if you just purchase the ordinary brand of products rather than the top-of-the-line brands, Wegman's prices on many items are comparable and often lower than those of many other stores. There have been numerous occasions that I have trekked to a store further away only to realize later that Wegman's has the same item at the same or lower price. Furthermore, Wegman's recently released a press statement formalizing their commitment to consistent low prices despite the uncertainty of the current state of the economy. Now if only Wegman's would implement a decent customer loyalty rewards program. Wegman's operates in MD, PA, NJ, VA & NY.

Nonetheless if a Wegman's is not convenient, this deal is also available at any store that sells the Glade spray for approx. $1.00. I did note that KMart has this product for $.96, however, the cashier wasn't able to run the coupons thru. KMart's registers have been acting weird ever since they started Super Double Coupon days. Additionally, I also noted that Target also has Glade sprays for $.97.

US Park Service - Free Admission - Veterans Appreciation Day

The Department of the Interior and Department of Agriculture have announced that, beginning this Veterans Day (Nov. 11), U.S. veterans, members of the U.S. armed forces and their families will be admitted free-of-charge on Veterans Day to most public lands managed by the Department of the Interior and the Department of Agriculture.

The administrative fee waiver of entrance and/or standard amenity fees will apply annually on Veterans Day at public recreation lands managed by Interior’s National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Reclamation and Agriculture’s U.S. Forest Service.

As a result of my college days, I am a big proponent of washing dishes by hand. I know a lot of people prefer the dishwasher claiming it is more reliable than hand washing, but I have seen dishes come out of the dishwasher just as grimy as the most careless hand washer could produce. I feel dishwashers give people, especially college roommates, an excuse to not be responsible for their dishes. When the operation of a dishwasher is the primary means of washing dishes, I have noticed that the dishes often wind up piling up in the sink as the dishwasher is usually either full with dirty dishes or needs to be unloaded. One of my pet peeves in a living situation is dishes in the sink. While many people would prefer dishes to be placed in the sink instead of scattered around, I feel the sink is a place to wash dishes not to stack dishes. If a sink if full of dishes you can’t use the sink very easily to complete other tasks. If anything, I prefer dirty dishes to be stack on the counter adjacent to the sink, but of course I think people should just do their own dishes as they utilize them. When a person has to wash his/her own dishes, I feel the person is inclined to utilize fewer dishes in his/her eating endeavors and thus cuts down on the need to wash dishes in the first place.
