Walgreens - $5/$25 Coupon - May 20-21, 2009

Although the $5/$25 coupons were extremely abundant for a short while back in December, some in a variant Register Rewards format as well as some promoted thru printable coupon websites, it has been quite a long time since I have seen one of these coupons. I am so pleased that Walgreens has decided to release one and even more pleased that it is in the orginal print from Walgreens Website format! This decision will go a long ways towards getting Walgreens out of the doghouse for suspending the EasySaver Rebates. As part of my brewing declaration about Walgreens decision regarding the EasySaver program as well as general sediments towards Walgreens marketing tactics, I was planning on including a reference to the the lack of this type of coupon and low and behold they go ahead and release one.

This coupon truly means a lot to me. When I first discovered it this past summer, it really helped me acquire a lot of daily essentials as well as miscellaneous items that I needed but could not otherwise afford. But, by using the coupon strategically, I was able to overcome a lot of setbacks from outside parties (ie my school/church) and obtain such items. Thus, I recommend using this coupon in conjuction with items which will produce a Register Rewards in order to maximize your savings.

California Tortilla - Pop Tart Day - Wednesday, May 20, 2009

California Tortilla will host its 15th Annual Pop-Tart Day promotion on May 20. As such, California Tortilla will be giving everyone (with purchase) a free Pop Tart and one lucky customer from each store will find a golden ticket in his or her Pop Tart packet that entitles the bearer to one free burrito every week for a year.

Sounds very Willy Wonka-ish, right? I think that is the only reason I am bothering to mention this promotion. A free pop tart by itself is nothing to get excited about, especially since a purchase may be required. Plus, I feel techically requiring a purchase would change the legal classification of this deal-y thing, but I will leave that to someone who actually cares to fuss about. I am just enticed by the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory connection. I could go on and on about my childhood experience with the movie, but in short I appreciate how Charlie was such a good kid and I hope a "good kid" wins the free burritos for a year. To an extent, I hope I win the burritos. But then again, despite my love of tacos, I am not really fond of California Tortilla.

RedBox - Free DVD Rental

It's a sad, sad world. First, Walgreens EasySaver and now RedBox's Monday Movies. The world is coming to an end one promotion program after another. But, to be honest, I don't really care about RedBox. I have never rented a movie from RedBox under the promotion or otherwise. I care more about Walgreens and I have been holding my statement on the situtation for a while I morn, but I will release soon. In regards to RedBox, last week, 5/11, was the last week of RedBox's Free Monday Movie program. However, to put a spin on this Debbie Downer news, RedBox is wrapping the message in a guise that they are extending the program on a monthly basis. Here is what they have to say:

The redbox Free Movie Monday promotion, inviting consumers to receive a free rental code via text message every Monday, will be extended through August. Originally slated to end May 11, redbox will extend the promotion due to consumer popularity and will transition from a weekly free code to a monthly free code.

The Free Movie Monday monthly code will be distributed via text on the first Monday of every month, beginning June 1. To register or view promotion details, go to www.redbox.com. The last Free Movie Monday weekly rental code will be distributed May 11.

See release here. I guess it's all a matter of persective.

Pfizer - Free Medication Assistance for Unemployed

Pfizer Inc announced that it will launch an innovative program to help eligible unemployed Americans and their families who have lost their health insurance maintain access to their Pfizer medicines for free. The inspiration for the new program, called MAINTAIN™ (Medicines Assistance for Those who Are in Need), was generated by Pfizer employees who were witnessing friends, family and neighbors struggle to make ends meet after losing their jobs.

The program, which applies regardless of prior family income, will be open for enrollment through December 31, 2009 and applies to eligible Americans who have become unemployed since January 1, 2009. It is designed to help recently unemployed Americans and their families who have lost their insurance and who are taking Pfizer medicines to continue treatment for free for up to one year or until they become re-insured (whichever comes first). More than 70 Pfizer primary care medicines will be available through the program.

Eligibility requirements of the new program include:

-Loss of employment since January 1, 2009
-Prescribed and taking a Pfizer medicine for at least 3 months prior to becoming unemployed and enrolling in the program
-Lack of prescription drug coverage
-Can attest to financial hardship

The new program will be fully operational on July 1, 2009. However, people in need now can call 1-866-706-2400 or visit www.PfizerHelpfulAnswers.com for help. MAINTAIN is a part of Pfizer Helpful Answers, a joint program of Pfizer Inc and the Pfizer Patient Assistance Foundation.
