Giant Food will offer a free 14-day supply of generic antibiotics to customers with prescriptions thru March 21.
Giant's free drug program will cover popular antibiotics, including amoxicillin, penicillin, ciprofloxacin and bacitracin ophthalmic ointment. The medications can be used to treat bacterial illnesses such as ear and sinus infections but not common viral illnesses such as the flu and the cold.
The free prescription drug program also will be offered at Giant's sister chain, Stop & Shop.
