I have been thinking more about the shortage of toothpaste at nonprofits that service homeless individuals. My best hypothesis as to why toothpaste is most often in dire need over other hygiene products is that it is easy for such places to amass travel sized items such as shampoo and soap from groups that attend conferences. However, toothpaste generally isn't included in the standard hotel toiletries lineup. That leaves me to wonder why doesn't a dentist fill in the gap?
